Named after the book authored by Linda Cates Lacy, this nonprofit organization is committed to preserving military history and advancing public awareness of women’s service in the armed forces. This corporation focuses on charitable and educational purposes as outlined in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

The rich tapestry of military history includes the evolution of uniforms. Veteran stories often highlight the significance of these uniforms, showcasing the dedication and service of the veterans who wore them. Notably, the women's Marine Corps uniforms have evolved over time, reflecting the growing role of women in the military and their impactful contributions to history.


Donations assist us with expenses related to the preservation of the rare historic items that belong to this nonprofit corporation; and education and public outreach.
Once 501(c)(3) status is approved by the IRS, donations will be retroactively tax deductible as of 21 October 2025, the date filed with the state of North Carolina.
